H.O.T. (Harvest Outreach Table)
Heating up H.O.T. again
The Harvest Outreach Table, better know to most of us as H.O.T., is reopening this Saturday for in-person meals.
HOT is the oldest ongoing ministry of St. Paul’s, providing food and fellowship for our neighbors throughout Canton. Judy Arrington, her husband Gordon and other couples in the St. Paul’s founded the ministry in the early '60s, and the gathering have continued on the third Saturday of each month.
Covid forced us to shut down the in-person aspect, though we continued to provide frozen meals to anyone who stopped by. Beginning in December, we again offered hot meals, takeout and delivered throughout downtown Canton. Now we're resuming our inperson dining, while observing Covid protections including masks and social distancing. Vestry has approved guidelines modeled largely on those agreed to by the NA and AA groups that regularly gather at St. Paul’s.
To get ready, Carol Sutek is recruiting people to help with preparation, serving and cleanup. Please contact her (carolsrn@aol.com). We’re also looking for volunteers and for various ways to get the word out to the neighborhoods that St. Paul’s HOT is back.
Here’s an overview of the guidelines, beginning with setting up the Guild Hall for social distancing.
