Grounded in the past, faith in the future
St. Paul's Episcopal is one of the oldest churches in Canton and has stood on the same corner (now 425 Cleveland Ave. SW) since 1869. We're part of the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, which covers the northern part of the state, the national Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion worldwide. We embrace these messages of our broader church: “Love God. Love Your Neighbor. Change the World.” and “God Loves You. No Exceptions.”

Our Vestry:
The Vestry is the legal representative of the parish with regard to all matters pertaining to its corporate property. The number of Vestry members and the term of office varies from parish to parish. At St. Paul's, most Vestry members are elected to three-year terms at the annual parish meeting in January and can serve two consecutive terms. The senior warden is often defined as the rector's warden, serving as a liaison with the priest. The junior warden is often referred to as the people's warden. The other officers at St. Paul's are the treasurer, assistant treasurer and clerk. The basic responsibilities of the Vestry are to help define and articulate the mission of the congregation; to support the church’s mission by word and deed, to select the priest, to ensure effective organization and planning, and to manage resources and finances.
